Job Title: Senior Software Technical Lead

A leading technology organisation operating within the secure communications and defence sector is seeking an experienced Senior Software Technical Lead to provide technical leadership across the development of secure software solutions.

About the Role

This is a high-impact role combining hands-on engineering delivery with technical governance, process improvement, and team mentorship. You will act as a key technical authority, driving software engineering excellence, improving development practices, and supporting multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex, high-assurance systems.

Working closely with software engineers, systems engineers, and project teams, you will help shape software architecture, establish engineering standards, and ensure successful delivery against technical and programme objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Engineering Governance

  • Define, improve, and maintain software development processes, tools, and engineering workflows.
  • Provide architectural guidance and technical oversight across software development activities.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards, peer review processes, and engineering best practices.
  • Support project delivery by identifying and removing technical barriers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
