The Position

- Ensure the quality and reliability of our medical software systems
- Work independently on test design and verification of complex software functions and features
- Define the software test environment
- Lead verification activities
- Mentor team members to foster technical excellence
Key Responsibilities
Software V&V Planning & Strategy
- Conduct independent reviews of software requirements and user stories
- Ensure clarity and testability of submissions
- Define software acceptance criteria in close collaboration with stakeholders
Advanced Software Test Design
- Independently create, maintain, and review complex test cases across software lifecycle—from feasibility to product care
- Collaborate with software developers on test case elaboration and issue resolution
Test Automation & Environment
- Specify and implement required software test equipment and environments
- adhere to the tested strategy and regulatory requirements
- Handle testing tools and automation frameworks according to test plans

Execution & Defect Management
- Execute complex software test sets and analyze results
- Independently track defects to verification of fix
- Report findings to project teams and propose strategic actions
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical guidance to junior team members
- Drive implementation of new software testing technologies and tools
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Represent verification in project meetings and committees
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Hardware (HW) Development, and Operations
Who You Are
Education
Graduate with a relevant degree at M.Sc. level or higher (e.g. Informatics, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, Electronics)
Experience
At least 5 years of professional experience in software verification or a similar position
Certification
ISTQB Certified Tester - Advanced Level (Test Analyst or Technical Test Analyst) or equivalent credential
Technical Expertise
- Proven knowledge of V&V processes and methods for complex software systems
- Advanced Programming (Python, C/C++, Bash Script, Gherkin)
- Load testing, reliability testing, and usability testing highly preferable
Tools
- Advanced proficiency with test management tools like JAMA or codebeamer
Soft Skills
- Ability to solve complex technical problems under pressure
- Strong communication skills for articulate technical discussions and feedback
- Innovative mindset with foresight into technical risks

Languages
- Expert English (B2/C1 level or higher)
Location & Work Arrangement
- Based at Roche Diagnostics (Maxim Motherwell, UK)
- Hybrid working mode (minimum 50% office presence)
- No relocation support
