About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer in Test – Java & Azure to join our London-based team. In this role, you will play a key part in building scalable automation solutions that ensure the quality of cloud-native applications, APIs, and data platforms. You'll work with Java, Azure, Databricks, and modern testing methodologies to develop robust automation frameworks while supporting continuous integration and delivery practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to enterprise-grade data solutions and improve software quality across the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for functional and end-to-end testing.
- Design and execute automated test scenarios for REST APIs, ensuring reliability, performance, and accuracy.
- Validate complex data pipelines running on Databricks to ensure data integrity and business rule compliance.
- Apply Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) principles throughout software development.
- Work closely with developers, QA engineers, architects, and DevOps teams to integrate automated testing into GitLab-based CI/CD pipelines.
- Support automated testing strategies for applications deployed on Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize automation scripts to improve efficiency, stability, and maintainability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing standards, tools, and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in Java development with a focus on automated software testing.
- Hands-on expertise in TDD/BDD methodologies using frameworks such as JUnit and Cucumber.
- Experience testing RESTful APIs, including creating comprehensive automated validation scenarios.
- Solid understanding of Front-to-Back (F2B) or end-to-end testing approaches in enterprise applications.
- Experience working with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated testing into deployment workflows.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills with strong attention to quality.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure cloud services and Databricks environments.
- Knowledge of testing and validating large-scale data processing pipelines.
- Familiarity with observability, test reporting, and quality metrics within CI/CD ecosystems.
- Exposure to performance testing and monitoring for distributed, API-based applications.
- Understanding of cloud-native testing strategies and modern automation best practices.
