The HSF Kramer Finance practice is a highly regarded international Banking and Finance team, known for executing complex deals with precision and speed. Based in London, this division advises on all types of financing—cutting-edge transactions, novel structures, and cross-border deals—acting for clients including lenders, borrowers, advisers, and financial markets participants.

The HSF Kramer Digital Finance team is part of the Digital Legal Delivery practice, offering cost-effective and high-quality managed legal services for global finance mandates. We collaborate closely with the traditional Finance teams on market-leading transactions, ensuring travel-centric or hybrid solutions where needed.
The Role: Senior Solicitor
Key Responsibilities
- Client Service & Project Delivery:
- Deliver excellence in client service, managing discrete legal projects independently.
- Act as a proactive point of contact for clients, building relationships and anticipating needs.
- Team Leadership & Workload Management:
- Manage and delegate work to junior colleagues, supporting their development.
- Lead complex tasks, delegate effectively, and track progress with stakeholders.
- Supervise billing processes, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
- Advisory & Legal Excellence:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge in finance transaction law, ensuring best-in-class drafting, negotiation, and project management.
- Apply legal technology (e.g., AI tools) to enhance service delivery.
- Business Development & Growth:
- Contribute to business development, including events, presentations, and pitching.
- Lead revenue generation driving HSF Kramer’s growth targets in line with senior strategies.
- Operational Leadership:
- Oversee legal operations, ensuring process optimisation, cost management, and budget adherence.

- Serve as line manager for:

- Foster a high-performance culture, encouraging professional growth.
- Serve as line manager for:
- Client Collaboration:
- Collaborate seamlessly with London-based HSF Kramer teams and external clients to advance projects.
- Travel Flexibility:
- Occasional travel between HSF Kramer offices, with limited and occasional international travel opportunities (not a strict requirement).

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Mandatory Eligibility
- Qualified solicitor (practising in England & Wales, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, or another commonlaw/international jurisdiction).
- Additional requirement: If not qualified in England & Wales, willingness to requalify as needed.
- Minimum 3 years PQE (or exceptional circumstances acceptable upon providing supporting evidence).
Essential Experience & Skill Set
- Finance Transaction Expertise: Trusted knowledge at mid-associate to senior level across structured finance, securitisation, real estate financing, energy projects, and leveraged deals.
- Legal & Commercial Acumen:
- Drafting, negotiation, and project management prowess.
- Understanding of law firm profitability and financial efficiency tools.
- Core Skills:
- Management: People management, aligning team objectives with client/business needs.
- Business Development: Fundamentals or trial experience in growth strategies and relationship building.
- Operational Mindset:
- Proactive problem-solving, cost-country navigation, and activities supporting profitability.
- Requirements for Location:
- Must reside in the UK but at least 100 miles from an HSF Kramer London office and not in Northern Ireland (otherwise, location flexible).
