About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Solicitor to provide high-quality, commercially-focused legal support across the organisation as part of an established in-house legal team.
This is a hands-on senior role where you will take ownership of a broad range of legal matters, supporting the business across commercial, corporate, property, and regulatory activities. You'll collaborate closely with the General Counsel and senior solicitors, ensuring timely, pragmatic legal advice in a diverse and fast-paced environment.
We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running—bringing prior in-house experience, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Commercial Legal Support
- Provide practical, commercially-focused legal advice across:
- Commercial contracts and terms and conditions
- Procurement and supplier agreements
- Corporate and transactional matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts and legal documentation

Broad Legal Advisory
- Support the business in property and construction matters
- Provide regulatory and compliance advice
- Handle pre-contentious commercial disputes
- Address intellectual property considerations
Business Partnering
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organisation, offering clear, pragmatic guidance
- Assist procurement, HR, and operations with legal matters
- Build strong internal relationships as a trusted legal advisor
Team & Operational Support
- Manage workload across multiple concurrent legal matters while supporting the wider legal team
- Maintain and develop legal templates and documentation frameworks
- Contribute to legal training and awareness across departments
Requirements
Essential
- Fully qualified solicitor in England & Wales with an active practising certificate
- Proven in-house experience (required)
- Strong background in commercial contracts and general corporate/legal matters
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality advice in a fast-paced setting
- Confidence engaging with stakeholders at all levels across a business

Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience in property, regulatory, or procurement law
- Exposure to complex, multi-disciplinary organisations
- Prior experience supervising or supporting junior team members
Note: This role is best suited to candidates with solid qualification and meaningful in-house experience, rather than a purely private practice background.
