Senior Solicitor
Senior Solicitor (UK-Based Candidates Only)
Location: Nottingham (Flexible) Contract: 6 months Pay Rate: 12 weeks’ notice – target start date: 20 July
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified legal professional with extensive experience in delivering clear, practical legal advice to:
- Officers
- Elected members
- Stakeholders
within complex public sector environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Litigation & Advocacy:
- Lead preparation and advocacy in Magistrates’ and County Court proceedings
- Conduct litigation matters across relevant jurisdictions

Licensing Law:
- Prepare cases and support hearings on licensing matters
- Understand and advise committees on procedural and evidential requirements
- Prepare, advise, and execute on licence applications and enforcement

Planning & Enforcement Compliance:
- Provide expertise in planning enforcement and building regulation matters
- Draft and prepare statutory documentation for prosecutions and enforcement

Housing & Property Law:
- Handle possession proceedings, tenancy disputes, leasehold issues, and boundary disputes
- Oversee housing enforcement matters

- Draft, negotiate, and finalise legally binding agreements, including:
- Leases
- Licences
- Contracts
- Easements
- Statutory orders

Local Government Compliance:
- Manage competing priorities in local government legal frameworks
- Conduct in-depth legal research
- Support senior legal leadership and governance functions
