Senior Solution Consultant (Accounts Payable, Treasury, & Reporting) – Zone & Company

About the Role

The Senior Solution Consultant is a key member of the Solution Consulting team, responsible for driving the pre-sales process through technical expertise, product demonstrations, and solution design. This role focuses primarily on Accounts Payable (AP) automation, Reporting, and Treasury workflows, with the ability to scale expertise across additional product lines (e.g., Order to Cash) over time.

The Senior SC partners closely with Sales to understand prospect needs and delivers tailored demos that showcase Zone’s product value—translating complex finance operations challenges into clear, solution-oriented narratives for finance stakeholders, including CFOs, Controllers, and FP&A leaders. This is a high-value partnership role alongside Sales: leading and landing larger, more complex deals.

Note: This role requires ~30% travel, primarily to the UK/London.


What You’ll Do

1. Strategic Deal Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end demonstrations for high-value, complex deals, aligning technology strategy with business objectives and anticipating risk for C-level stakeholders.
  • Gather technical requirements from customers and partner with Account Executives to define solution strategies aligned to:
    • Prospect objectives
    • Finance team workflows
    • Industry-specific needs
  • Customise Zone demos based on the client’s specific challenges.
  • Coach junior Solution Consultants and Account Executives on value-based selling and competitive positioning in live deal situations—acting as a strategic partner in landing deals.
  • Lead discovery calls with customers, partners, or NetSuite teams to surface operational pain points and shape demo strategy.

2. Subject-Matter Expertise & Enablement

  • Develop and maintain demo environments that reflect real-world customer use cases, staying current with product updates and messaging.
  • Create and update enablement materials, including:
    • Demo scripts
    • Videos
    • Solution briefs
    • Internal documentation
  • Mentor junior Solution Consultants, sharing knowledge on:
    • Demo techniques
    • Deal strategy playbooks
  • Own competitive intelligence for your specialty area, tracking:
    • Market trends
    • Resources (e.g., via Klue)
  • Bring fluent AI hands-on experience to demo development—AI literacy is critical to how you build and deliver solutions.

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Customer Success and Professional Services to ensure a unified pre-sales experience and seamless post-sale handoff.
  • Work with Product and Marketing on launches, providing field insights, competitive trends, and roadmap feedback.
  • Assist RFPs with timely, accurate technical input alongside Sales and Product teams.

What You’ll Bring

Experience & Technical Expertise

  • 7+ years in solution consulting, pre-sales, financial systems consulting, or related SaaS roles (or exceptional finance/ERP expertise like public accounting, financial consulting, or hands-on AP/Treasury/Reporting in NetSuite + similar ERPs).
  • Proven ability to engage confidently with CFOs and finance leadership—able to:
    • Think on your feet
    • Translate product capability into commercial impact (ROI, payback period, risk reduction) beyond process efficiency.
  • Deep familiarity with core finance workflows, including:
    • Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Treasury
    • Reporting
  • Scalable expertise: Expected to grow into an additional specialty (e.g., Billing and Revenue Recognition).
  • Hands-on experience with ERP/financial systems, such as:
    • NetSuite
    • SAP
    • Workday
    • Oracle
    • Intacct
    • Tipalti
    • Ramp
