About the Role
Snowflake is seeking a Senior Solution Engineer focused on the UK market to tackle our customers’ most complex challenges. This role involves collaborating directly with account sales teams and channel partners to grasp customer needs, craft optimal strategies for their evaluation, and guide adoption of Snowflake as their chosen solution.
Key Responsibilities
As a Snowflake Solution Engineer, your mission is to champion the most demanding data challenges and unlock maximum value for organizations. Snowflake’s tech ecosystem is constantly evolving, so you thrive on learning new skills and applying them to real-world problems. You’ll:
- Present Snowflake’s technology and vision to executives and technical stakeholders—whether at prospects, customers, or in joint engagements
- Work hand-on with prospects and customers throughout the sales cycle, from demos to proofs of concept, demonstrating the value proposition
- Develop technical champions within accounts to drive commitments and secure technical wins
- Deeply understand Snowflake—fluent in communicating roadmap features, capabilities, and opportunity milestones to both customers and prospects
- Monitor industry evolution—remain agile in recognizing competitive/alternative technologies and their relevance, positioning Snowflake as the optimal solution
- Foster collaboration with peers and cross-functional teams (Sales Engineers, Product, Engineering, and Marketing) to improve offerings
- Speak to Cloud/Serverless trends and intelligent resource management to win over data-conscious customers
- Represent Snowflake internally and externally at industry or customer events, building thought leadership
- Partner with ecosystem and implementation teams to cocreate account strategies and refine Snowflake’s joint architectures
- Proactively co-develop Account and territory plans, working alongside the broader ecosystem to drive deals

Requirements
Essential (Day 1 Competencies):

Proven solution engineering/solution architect experience within a SaaS environment (or similar industry) focused on analytics, data science, or data engineering

Exceptional presentation skills—able to engage technical experts, business teams, and executive leadership, both through off-road discussions and structured, whiteboard/WebEx-based delivery

Strong cloud-based data platform knowledge, including:
- Data architecture and design principles
- Hands-on experience with SQL
- Understanding of data platform capabilities and cost structures
- Ability to translate features into business outcomes—bridge the gap between technical product vision and measurable value

Business problem-solving capability—capacity to diagnose customer needs and articulate Snowflake-driven solutions in cross-functional battles

People-oriented mindset; sales-facing demeanor—demonstrated ability to communicate Snowflake’s vision and value to diverse stakeholders

Preferred (Enablement Advantage):
- experience in Insurance, technical data-heavy industries, or any sector anticipating analytics watersheds
- Python development experience
- Hands-on deployment of modern data tools—such as:
- dbt (open data transformation platform)
- Apache Spark and related clusters
- Containerization and Azure/AWS options
- DevOps/MLOps automation platforms
- Orchestration, CI/CD, or configuration management
- Familiarity with AI and ML—whether through project engagement, theoretical framework, or hands-on application
