Senior Solutions Architect – Quantum Optimisation at D-Wave

About the Role
An opportunity to join our Professional Services team as a Senior Solutions Architect—helping customers realise the value of quantum by designing, building, and deploying hybrid and quantum optimisation solutions.
In this dynamic role, you’ll collaborate with delivery leads, developers, and architects to:
- Translate customer业务 challenges into quantum-ready solutions
- Serve as a technical bridge between D-Wave’s systems and customer needs
- Prototype, test, and deploy applications in production environments
Whether working with founding customers or emerging quantum adopters, you’ll help shape how the next generation of industries optimise innovation.
Responsibilities

Build & Deploy
- Engineer customer applications on D-Wave quantum computers and support tools
- Ensure successful delivery of complex projects that deliver measurable business value

Advise & Align
- Communicate capabilities strategically to customers, asking probing questions to refine requirements
- Map business problems to D-Wave’s hybrid solvers (e.g., Leap量子云, on-premise QPUs)
- Model problems mathematically and design quantum-augmented workflows

Requirements
Technical Proficiency
- Advanced Degree (or equivalent experience) in:
- Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, or related field
- 5+ years Python expertise (familiarity with NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, Networkx is a bonus)
- Hands-on with classical optimisation tools (CPLEX, Gurobi)
- Emerging quantum tooling (quantum annealing, quantum gates, hybrid algorithms) – a plus
- Version control experience with Git
- Production-ready application development—deploying scalable, cloud-optimised solutions
Solutions & Delivery
- Demonstrated ability to lead consulting engagements, gathering requirements and delivering measurable ROI
- Customer-centric mindset: Understanding how to optimise urgency, outcomes, and partnerships
- Growth industries: Manufacturing, Logistics, Retail, or Services preferred experience
