Senior Solutions Consultant (MSP)
Base Salary: £60,000 - £69,000
Benefits: 24 days holiday + bank holidays, birthday off, additional Christmas shutdown day, free parking + more
Location: Pendlebury, Manchester (3 days a week in the office)

The Opportunity
I'm working with a growing MSP that's built a solid reputation within the education sector, partnering with schools and Multi-Academy Trusts to design, deliver and support modern, secure IT environments. They're investing heavily in their Solutions function as they continue to grow, creating an opportunity for an experienced Senior Solutions Consultant to join the team.
You'll become the technical lead on some of the organisation's most complex infrastructure and cloud opportunities, working closely with customers, sales and delivery teams to design solutions that are technically robust, commercially viable and operationally supportable.
You'll be supporting schools and trusts with everything from Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace migrations, HPE Aruba, Cisco Meraki and Ubiquiti networking, Windows Server, VMware and Hyper-V infrastructure, through to identity, security, backup and digital transformation.
This role is about far more than producing proposals. You'll lead technical discovery, influence solution direction, present to senior stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor throughout the entire presales lifecycle.
You'll also play a key role internally, helping to raise the standard of the Solutions team by mentoring colleagues, creating reusable documentation and templates, and continually improving how solutions are designed and delivered across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Day to day
You'll lead discovery workshops with customers, understanding both their operational and technical challenges before designing end-to-end infrastructure solutions across Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Entra ID, networking, endpoint management, backup and security.
Working alongside sales, you'll shape strategic opportunities, produce high-quality solution documentation, Statements of Work and High-Level Designs, while ensuring every solution is commercially sound and can be successfully delivered by the technical teams.
You'll regularly present recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership teams, building credibility and influencing decision-making throughout the sales process.
Alongside customer work, you'll contribute to internal standards by developing technical documentation, design templates and best practices that improve consistency across the wider Solutions function.
Who we are looking for
We're looking for someone with strong infrastructure and solution design experience who enjoys solving complex customer challenges and communicating technical concepts in a clear, commercial way.
Your background could come from an MSP, the public sector or a complex private sector environment. What's important is that you've worked across a variety of infrastructure environments and understand how to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.

You'll be confident engaging with senior leaders, challenging where appropriate and influencing technical and commercial decisions. Strong stakeholder management is just as important as your technical capability.
You'll ideally have experience designing solutions across technologies such as Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, Windows Server, VMware, Hyper-V, Active Directory, Entra ID, Intune, SCCM, HPE Aruba, Cisco Meraki, Ubiquiti, Fortinet, Barracuda, SAN/NAS storage and enterprise backup platforms such as Redstor. Experience producing high-quality technical documentation, proposals, SOW’s and HLD’s is equally important.
If you've also helped create internal standards, documentation or reusable templates that improve the way a technical team operates, we'd be keen to hear from you.
