About the Role
At Marriott International, we’re seeking a Senior Sous Chef to lead our culinary team, ensuring outstanding food presentation, quality, and service in a bustling hospitality environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervision & Coordination
- Oversee and delegate tasks among cooks and kitchen staff
- Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishes of dishes
- Monitor food quantities and communicate menu changes to service staff
- Prepare substitutions for missing menu items and special meals

Operational Excellence
- Assist chefs with preparation, cooking, and plating tasks
- Maintain stock levels for supplies, ingredients, and equipment
- Record kitchen logs for food safety, inventory, and compliance

Quality Assurance
- Inspect food items for quality and presentation standards and report issues
- Work under the company’s food safety, sanitation, and service policies

Team Leadership
- Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluations
- Coach and motivate staff to meet daily goals and maintain service excellence

Guest & Support Responsibilities
- Address guest concerns and requests with professionalism
- Offer backup for team members covering busy shifts
- Ensure sales, operations, and housekeeping teams are aligned

Administrative Tasks
- Complete safety training and certification programs
- Maintain kitchen tools and report maintenance needs proactively
Key Skills & Requirements
- Education: Degree (or equivalent) from a technical, trade, or vocational school
- Experience: 4–6 years in a culinary role, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience
- Physical Demands: Stands/walks extensively, bends continuously, lifts up to 25 lbs unassisted, operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment
