Flying Pizza are hiring a Senior Sous Chef!

- The Distefano family (two generations) founded San Carlo over 30 years ago.
- What began as one restaurant has grown to 25 authentic Italian restaurants across the UK, spanning from Covent Garden, Piccadilly and Knightsbridge in London to Bristol, Leicester, Liverpool, Leeds, Cheshire and Manchester, plus an expanding footprint globally.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, and plating
- Ensure food quality and presentation standards align with customer expectations
- Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and 1:1 feedback sessions
- Foster a positive and engaged team culture via incentives and recognition programs
- Conduct inductions for new starters in line with company protocols
- Train and supervise Sous Chefs to meet sanitation and safety standards
- Enforce food safety and sanitation guidelines across all teams
- Adjust food inventory and supply ordering to minimise waste
- Maintain and repair kitchen equipment proactively
- Collaborate with other kitchen teams and restaurant managers for optimised production
- Respond to customer complaints in a professional and solution-oriented way
- Set and uphold high service standards – always demonstrating respect and composure under pressure

Required Qualifications & Experience
- 2+ years’ experience in a similar culinary role
- Proven team management experience
- Exceptional communication skills (able to coordinate across departments)
- Attention to detail with organisational skills to manage multitasking stressful periods
- Self-motivated, independent worker with strong judgement and autonomy—relies less on direct oversight
- Strong understanding of food safety and industry best practices
