Flying Pizza are hiring a Senior Sous Chef!

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, and plating
  • Ensure food quality and presentation standards align with customer expectations
  • Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and 1:1 feedback sessions
  • Foster a positive and engaged team culture via incentives and recognition programs
  • Conduct inductions for new starters in line with company protocols
  • Train and supervise Sous Chefs to meet sanitation and safety standards
  • Enforce food safety and sanitation guidelines across all teams
  • Adjust food inventory and supply ordering to minimise waste
  • Maintain and repair kitchen equipment proactively
  • Collaborate with other kitchen teams and restaurant managers for optimised production
  • Respond to customer complaints in a professional and solution-oriented way
  • Set and uphold high service standards – always demonstrating respect and composure under pressure

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar culinary role
  • Proven team management experience
  • Exceptional communication skills (able to coordinate across departments)
  • Attention to detail with organisational skills to manage multitasking stressful periods
  • Self-motivated, independent worker with strong judgement and autonomy—relies less on direct oversight
  • Strong understanding of food safety and industry best practices
