Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a keen Live-Out Senior Sous Chef to join our Kitchen Team here at Old Thorns Hotel & Resort.

The role will give you the opportunity to learn and develop in the kitchen, with good potential to progress within the company. You should have high standards of food preparation and presentation, ensuring food wastage is kept to a minimum.
You will be working in one of our many kitchens:
- Our lively Sports Bar offering pub style food,
- Our Kings Restaurant offering our residents breakfast and dinner,
- Our Banquet Kitchens where we cater for up to 450 covers on a busy wedding or tribute night.
Responsibilities
- Carry out cooking duties during production periods at a high standard.
- Produce food which complies with the set menus and high quality expectations.
- Monitor and ensure strict portion control.
- Ensure wastage is limited.
- Ensure the food is stored and labelled correctly.
- Correctly setup the kitchen and servery prior to opening.
- Assist the Head Chef with the onboarding of new employees.
- Assist the Head Chef with planning and developing menus.
- Monitor and ensure daily and weekly cleaning records are completed.
- Assist with compliance of all Hygiene Audits and any EHO visits.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with other members of the kitchen team and Front of House.

Qualifications
- Must hold a Valid Right to Work in the UK.
- High volume catering - Desirable.
- Level 3 in Food Hygiene (or a similar qualification) - Desirable.
- Level 2 in Food Safety/Hygiene - Essential.
- Training in Food Allergens - Essential.
- Minimum 1 - 3 years in a similar role - Essential.
- Available to work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends) - Essential.
- Passionate about delivering quality food.
- Be efficient, organised and work well within a team.
