About the Role
As a Senior Specialist Pharmacist in our Emergency Department, you will be at the forefront of patient care, providing invaluable support to multidisciplinary teams while making a tangible difference in the lives of patients requiring urgent medical attention.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Participating in post-take ward rounds with senior consultants
- Making autonomous prescribing decisions tailored to individual patients
- Supporting timely discharge medication organisation to enhance patient flow
- Leading service improvement projects
- Educating and training rotational pharmacists in clinical practice

What We’re Looking For
Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience (Essential)
- Qualified pharmacist (Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent)
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Postgraduate diploma in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience
- Advanced Stage 1 competencies in the RPS Advanced Pharmacy Framework (medical/surgical focus)
- Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork within a healthcare setting
- Sound knowledge of clinical pharmacy services (specialist experience preferred)
- Audit and evaluative work experience
- Teaching/tutoring experience
- Supervisory experience
- **Experience in change management and service improvement
- Development and implementation of clinical guidelines and procedures

Desirable Criteria
- Management qualification or equivalent experience
- MSc in clinical pharmacy or equivalent experience
- Independent Prescribing qualification (or evidence of qualification striving)
- Advanced Stage 2 or Mastery competencies in the RPS Advanced Pharmacy Framework
- Leadership experience or qualification
- Sound understanding of healthcare priorities and political agendas
- Medicines information training
- Project Management training or qualification
- Experience in managing a clinical team
