Role Description
Checkout.com is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Senior Specialist, Corporate Communications to join our fast-paced Communications and Content team on a 12m FTC. This role is ideal for an experienced communications professional who is ready to take ownership of high-quality execution across a broad range of corporate communications activity while continuing to grow their strategic judgment and influence. You will work closely with senior communications team members across media relations, corporate communications, strategic and crisis communications, editorial development, agency coordination, and campaign execution. You will be comfortable managing multiple workstreams at pace, producing excellent written output, supporting high-impact communications campaigns, securing quality media coverage, and partnering effectively with stakeholders across the business.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Media relations and pitching: Develop targeted pitches, build relationships with relevant journalists and influencers, and help secure meaningful coverage across priority media outlets.
- Content creation: Draft high-quality written materials, including press releases, bylines, briefing documents, messaging, and spokesperson preparation materials.
- Press office management: Support day-to-day press office activity, including fielding inbound enquiries, organising interviews, and helping ensure timely responses to media requests.
- Awards and recognition: Support awards and list-pitching activity by identifying relevant opportunities, drafting strong submissions, and managing deadlines effectively.
- Analytics and reporting: Maintain reporting and analytics across communications activity, using data and insights to help evaluate performance and improve future work.
- International: Partner with the wider marketing team to support international PR activity, helping coordinate agency inputs and contributing to consistent execution across markets.
- AI and agentic workflows: Use AI and agentic workflows effectively to improve pace, output, and quality, while applying strong editorial judgment and maintaining a high bar for accuracy.
- Crisis and sensitive issues: Support communications planning and execution for sensitive topics and high-stakes moments, including preparing materials, coordinating responses, and supporting senior team members with delivery.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in corporate communications or public relations, either in-house or at an agency.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to draft compelling press materials, bylines, briefing documents, and media pitches.
- Proven media relations experience, with a track record of landing stories with trade, business, or technology media.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with experience handling multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A data-driven mindset, with experience using reporting and analytics to assess communications performance and inform next steps.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, with the ability to influence peers and project partners, act as a subject matter expert in your area, and manage stakeholders effectively with support from your manager where needed.
- Experience supporting communications activity on sensitive issues or high-profile stakeholder matters, with sound judgment and attention to detail.
