Senior Speech and Language Therapist
Highly Experienced Speech & Language Therapist (Stroke & Neuro) – Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team (CNRT), Central Lancashire
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, organised, and motivated SLP with a specialist interest in stroke and neuro to join our established Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team (CNRT) in Central Lancashire.
About the Role
The CNRT delivers ongoing rehabilitation to patients in Chorley, South Ribble, and Greater Preston localities, predominantly those with stroke and acquired brain injury (ABI) diagnoses.
This role is ideal for a highly skilled SLP who thrives in an interdisciplinary environment and is passionate about supporting patients with complex neurological needs.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Working alongside highly experienced therapists in a supportive training and development framework
- Conducting assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation programme management across diverse clinical presentations
- Delegating tasks to generic rehabilitation assistants and guiding their delivery of care
- Managing your clinical caseload and appointments
- Collaborating closely with inpatient colleagues and multidisciplinary teams
This is a critical role requiring independent travel across the locality to deliver specialist neurological rehabilitation services.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Clinical Delivery
- Assessing, treating, planning, and delivering evidence-based rehabilitation interventions for patients with complex stroke, neuro, and ABI presentations
- Using investigative and analytical clinical reasoning to:
- Formulate differential diagnoses
- Develop and implement personalised management plans
- Work across organisational boundaries when needed
- Documenting and evidencing patient outcomes effectively

Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Working closely with inpatient teams, other professionals, and care partners
- Leading (or contributing to) training and development programmes for professionals both within and beyond the NHS (including service users)
- Fostering a culture of reflective practice and learning

Essential Requirements
- Highly experienced SLP with a strong specialist background in stroke and neuro
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work autonomously in a complex caseload environment
- Experience working in interdisciplinary teams with confidence
- Commitment to continuing professional development and knowledge sharing
- Ability to travel independently across the specified locality
- Passionate about maximising patient outcomes through evidence-based care
