Are you a Speech and Language Therapist with neurological experience looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference?
We are seeking an experienced Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist neurological rehabilitation team, supporting individuals with complex long-term neurological conditions.

About the Role
You will work across two specialist neurological rehabilitation services in Gloucester and Herefordshire, providing high-quality Speech and Language Therapy to individuals who require ongoing support to maximise their independence, communication, and quality of life.
The services specialise in slow-stream rehabilitation, with a focus on recognising each individual’s strengths, abilities, and personal goals.
As a Speech and Language Therapist, you will manage a specialist caseload, completing assessments, developing personalised treatment plans, delivering interventions, and evaluating outcomes in line with individual care plans.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing specialist Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions.
- Managing a caseload of individuals with complex communication and swallowing needs.
- Assessing and treating dysphagia.
- Leading therapeutic group sessions to support speech, language, and communication skills.
- Building positive therapeutic relationships with service users and encouraging engagement.
- Working collaboratively with families, carers, and the wider multidisciplinary team.
- Developing evidence-based strategies to maximise functional ability and independence.
- Contributing to clinical audits, service improvement projects, and research activities.

About the Services
These specialist neurological rehabilitation services provide 24-hour nursing and therapy support for individuals living with complex neurological conditions who require ongoing care and assistance.
The services focus on maximising each person’s abilities, comfort, and quality of life through personalised rehabilitation programmes.
Facilities include adapted bedrooms with high-dependency equipment, specialist therapy areas, accessible gardens, gym facilities, and resources to support therapeutic activities and community engagement.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- HCPC registration as a Speech and Language Therapist.
- Experience managing a caseload involving dysphagia assessment and treatment.
- Experience working with individuals with neurological conditions.
- Experience working with families and carers.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to manage complex cases.
- A collaborative approach and commitment to delivering person-centred care.
