Senior Splunk Engineer
Shape the future of cyber defence. Protect what matters most.
Join Sopra Steria as a Senior Security Engineer and take a lead role at the heart of our cyber capability. You’ll design, build and evolve cutting-edge security monitoring solutions that power our Security Operations Centre (SOC) — protecting critical systems and supporting national security outcomes.
This isn’t just another engineering role. You’ll work directly with clients to understand their biggest security challenges and turn them into robust, real-world solutions. From strategy through to implementation, you’ll shape how security is delivered across complex environments.
Hybrid working: 2 days in Farnborough, 3 days from home.
You must be SC Cleared OR eligible.
What you will be doing:
Lead security solution delivery across major client engagements. Design and implement SIEM solutions (Splunk) that make a real impact. Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and influence at all levels. Identify cyber risks and develop smart, effective mitigation strategies. Collaborate with Security Architects to shape secure-by-design solutions. Drive innovation by applying best practice and emerging technologies.
What you will bring:
Proven experience leading Security Engineering teams and large engagements. Strong client-facing skills and the ability to build lasting relationships. Hands-on experience with SIEM tools (Splunk). A sharp analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills. Experience responding to or simulating cyber incidents

It would be great if you had:
Cloud, on-prem, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS environments. Security incident response, code / malware analysis. Strong coding skills.

Employment Type: Permanent
Location: Hybrid: 2 days per week Farnborough, 3 days home based.
Security Clearance Level: willingness to go through SC

Salary: Up to £75,000
Benefits: 25 days annual leave with the choice to buy extra days,£5,400 car allowance, Medical Insurance, life assurance, and 6% pension
