Description
Harmony is on a mission to be the best life safety partner to work with and for. Rated an ‘Outstanding Employer’ by Best Companies in 2025, we are only getting bigger and stronger — and we’re looking for A-players to help us get there.
We are passionate about making a difference and obsessed with quality. Our goal is to build a world where every resident can sleep safely at night, knowing their home is 100% safe.
We are now looking for a Senior Sprinkler Service Engineer to lead from the front on our most complex sprinkler installations and service contracts. Based out of the Midlands with a nationwide remit, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, testing and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems — setting the bar on quality, safety and technical standards across the M&E service team and mentoring less experienced engineers along the way.
Working in accordance with BS 9251:2021 and applicable industry standards, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality life-safety systems to our clients. This is more than just a site role: it is about bringing the right energy, accountability and resilience to our mission of saving lives through fire and height safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead from the front on the most complex sprinkler installations, commissioning and service works, setting the technical bar for the wider engineering team.
- Install, commission, test and maintain domestic and residential fire sprinkler systems in line with BS 9251:2021.
- Carry out works across a variety of project types including residential and social housing, hospitals, schools, HMOs, care homes and student accommodation.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and project specifications, and confidently challenge designs where they don’t reflect site reality.
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant British Standards, industry codes of practice and client specifications.
- Conduct system testing and commissioning, completing all associated documentation accurately and to audit standard.
- Carry out fault-finding, servicing and remedial works on complex existing sprinkler installations.
- Provide technical guidance, coaching and on-site support to apprentices, less experienced engineers and subcontractors — raising the standard across the team.
- Act as a senior technical point of reference for the M&E service team, supporting service managers with quotes, scope queries and technical escalations.
- Liaise professionally with site managers, main contractors and clients, representing Harmony at senior level on site.
- Maintain accurate records and complete all required paperwork, including risk assessments and method statements.
- Work safely at all times, adhering to company health & safety policies, site rules and relevant legislation.
- Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
