Senior SSAS Administrator
The Senior SSAS Administrator will manage the full administration of Small Self-Administered Schemes (SSAS) and personal wealth for Catri (for around 40-45 households), ensuring technical accuracy and exceptional client service. The position requires meticulous attention to detail, a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, and proactive engagement with clients, advisers, and third parties. Reporting to the Operations Director, the role supports business growth and operational excellence.
This position is subject to credit checks and verification of the right to work in the UK.
Progression expected within the role includes team leadership, trustee and signing responsibilities, as well as refining office processes and systems to enhance client management and compliance.
Responsibilities
SSAS and Client Administration
- Act as the primary day-to-day contact for SSAS clients, delivering prompt and proactive service.
- Maintain accurate administration for SSAS arrangements, ensuring regulatory compliance and thorough record-keeping.
- Process new and takeover SSAS schemes, including registrations and reporting to HMRC, ICO, and The Pensions Regulator.
- Complete required reports such as:
- Pension Scheme Returns
- Event Reports
- Accounting for Tax Returns (for HMRC and other authorities)
- Monitor rent, loan repayments, and scheme bank accounts, ensuring compliance with internal controls and sufficient cash flow for payments and fees.
- Liaise with solicitors and third parties regarding property purchases and loanbacks related to SSAS schemes.
- Process contributions, transfers in/out, and benefit payments (retirement, death, illness).
- Prepare:
- Scheme asset valuations
- Member fund share calculations
- Annual review packs
- Provide administration and technical support to the Partners/Financial Advisers of Castri, including:
- Preparing documents for client meetings
- Assisting with technical queries
- Process investments and provide technical and administrative support to the Partners/Financial Advisers.

Essential Skills
Candidates should have preferably at least 5 years’ experience administering and managing a portfolio of SSAS clients or a similar financial services role. Key skills include:
- Strong technical understanding of SSAS, their role in financial planning, and relevant legislation
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients
- Clear, concise communication skills at all levels, both written and verbal
- A positive, client-focused approach and strong relationship-building abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
