Role Overview

The post holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care with minimal to no supervision dependent on stage of development. The post holder will be required to teach qualified and non-qualified staff including students following the critical care pathway. The post holder is designated to take charge of the Unit, deputising for the Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse. The post holder will inform the manager when changes in circumstances occur which may affect safe and competent practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides assessment, planning, organisation and co-ordination of care to Endoscopy patients
  • Establishes and maintains the highest standards of organisation and care delivery
  • Provides leadership, support and guidance to staff in monitoring the planning, delivery and evaluation of individualised care
  • Provides supervision to junior staff and acts as a mentor and assessor and creates a positive learning environment for junior staff, newly appointed staff and students
  • Provides a working and training environment that allows all staff to perform their duties to the best of their ability

Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen at The Queen Elizabeth NHS Trust for a senior band 6 senior staff nurse post as a full time or part-time post.

We are looking for highly skilled and experienced endoscopy nurse to support the staff in the unit.

Queen Elizabeth hospital are extending their endoscopy rooms from 4 to 5 procedure rooms where we perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy procedures
