Senior Staff Nurse - Children's Emergency Department
Band 6 Emergency Department (ED) Nurse – Opportunity to Advance Clinical Expertise
An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen for a dynamic individual with excellent clinical skills and Emergency Department (ED) experience to further develop their expertise as a Band 6 in ED, following a recent promotion.
About the Role
The successful candidate will take charge of the busy Emergency Department on a shift-by-shift basis, including responsibilities for:
- Ensuring smooth, high-quality patient care for children and their families/carers
- Approving the day-to-day flow of the department under Band 7 supervision
- Delegating and deploying nursing staff efficiently, particularly during Band 7 absences
- Regular involvement in streaming/triage team shifts to enhance skill mix

- Oversee delivery of standards of care in Emergency Department (ED)
- Support nursing team management in the absence of Band 7 leadership
- Play a key role in improving departmental coordination
- Assist in optimising workload and patient flow
