Registered Nurse - AMU L5
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated registered nurse to come and join the team on the AMU L5 at Northwick Park Hospital.
AMU L5 is a 32 bedded acute medical unit, and it is a busy, fast-paced Unit that receives patients directly from the Emergency Department and other acute areas. Patients typically remain on the unit for 24–72 hours, during which they undergo rapid assessment, investigation, and initial management. Patients are then either discharged home or transferred to the appropriate specialty area for ongoing care.
We are seeking staff with good clinical experience that are keen to advance their practice and team working skills. The applicant would be expected to work as a team undertaking duties at Band 6 staff nurse level, with an emphasis on high standards of patient care, good clinical skills and the opportunity to enhance those skills. The post holder will be required to carry out clinical duties whilst maintaining good working relationships with colleagues and would be expected to work within the multidisciplinary team.
The areas are complimented by a dedicated therapies and medical team and are supported by a clinical Matron, ward manager and a shared clinical practice development nurse. There is a great opportunity for career progression and clinical and professional development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
