Job Description
More about our mission and what we offer.
About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Staff Engineer (IC5) to join our Risk Assessment Platform squad. Our mission is to build a platform that allows Wise product teams to stay safe and compliant by executing risk assessments quickly and easily, while enabling our Financial Crime and Compliance teams to build controls with minimal effort.
Positioned exactly between these two worlds, our team is in the best possible place to drive company-wide impact. We ensure our customers can achieve their goals safely, conveniently, and without friction. Because we sit at the heart of the action at Wise, we deal with massive amounts of data and high-throughput systems—making this an incredibly attractive playground for engineers who love solving complex, high-scale problems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
