Senior Manager, Courier & Logistics - EU P&P, Rider Supply (FTC - 10 months)
The team
The Strategy & Operations team is responsible for ensuring our courier network remains stable, engaged, and responsive across multiple markets. We oversee the lifecycle experience following onboarding, focusing on enabling new couriers to get started successfully and supporting ongoing participation over time.
Our mission is to maintain a reliable and adaptable supply base that can flex in line with changing customer and operational demand. We combine data insights, operational strategy, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure our network remains healthy, resilient, and ready to scale.
The role
As a Senior Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the performance and stability of our courier network across multiple markets. You will focus on the lifecycle beyond onboarding, ensuring strong engagement, sustainable participation, and the right balance of supply to meet evolving demand.
This is a fast-paced and high-impact role, centred on understanding network dynamics, identifying emerging risks or opportunities, and implementing effective operational responses. You will set the strategic vision for your team, translating high-level business goals into actionable workstreams for your direct reports. While maintaining a pulse on operations, you will act as a talent multiplier—coaching your team to identify gaps, scale initiatives, and drive continuous improvement. You will foster a culture of technical excellence, ensuring your team acts as a bridge between data-driven insights and operational execution to deliver consistent performance across markets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements
- People Leadership: Demonstrated experience managing and developing high-performing teams in complex, fast-paced environments. You have a proven ability to coach direct reports, foster a culture of ownership, and balance team capacity against operational demands.
- Strategic Vision & Execution: You don’t just execute tasks; you set the strategic direction for your team. You are adept at translating high-level business objectives into clear, actionable workstreams that your team can own and deliver.
- Influencing & Stakeholder Management: Expert at building relationships across functions (Product, Data, Ops). You act as the primary advocate for your team, securing buy-in, communicating trade-offs to senior leadership, and ensuring cross-functional alignment.
- Data-Driven Leadership: You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and helping your team structure complex problems. You use data to guide your team’s prioritisation and measure the collective impact of your initiatives.
- Bias for Outcomes: You focus on delivering results at scale. You evaluate team performance based on meaningful business outcomes rather than just output, and you foster an environment of continuous improvement and iteration.
Preferred, but not required
- Familiarity with experimentation, measurement design, and operational change management.
- Experience using basic automation tools (like Zapier, smart spreadsheets, or basic scripts) to automate repetitive tasks and build simple systems that handle high-volume operations.
- Experience with courier, logistics, or gig economy operations.
