Senior Strategy & Operations Manager
As the S&O Lead for Monetisation, you will be responsible for managing and optimising merchant monetisation strategy across our markets. This includes commission structures, merchant fees, pricing architecture and more. We are looking for a highly driven Strategy and Operations Leader to take ownership of key monetisation levers and help build scalable systems, tools, and processes. You’ll be part of the Merchant Strategy & Operations (S&O) team and report into the Director, Global Mx Strategy.
You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders, commercial leadership, product teams, and finance to design, implement, and iterate on monetisation strategies. This role is both strategic and executional, ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex commercial problems while rolling up their sleeves to drive impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Define our monetisation strategy, collaborating with commercial leadership across global markets to set our global framework for commission, fee structures and our overall take rate.
- Lead monetisation pilots, track performance, and scale successful models across markets.
- Be the voice of our merchant partners and ensure we drive sustainable merchant growth and best-in-class selection of merchants, while allowing Deliveroo to take our fair share of value.
- Drive standardisation and reduce complexity across markets and segments, whilst maintaining a clear understanding of different competitive and market landscapes across markets and how those should impact our decision.
- Operationalise strategy and build playbooks, guidelines and negotiation frameworks to empower commercial and account management teams to land monetisation changes successfully.
- Define the monetisation roadmap with Engineering and Product leads, using technical solutions and automation to create processes that are effective and efficient.
- Serve as the global DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) for merchant monetisation, pushing the business to think about wider market trends and competitive pricing benchmarking.
- Assemble, inspire and drive a cross-functional team of stakeholders for monetisation that helps you drive strategic decisions as well as day to day running of governance and processes.
- Own ambitious monetisation OKRs and create the governance and structures to track performance, course correct and prioritise.
- Set and maintain high standards of operational rigour, ensuring monetisation frameworks are scalable to all markets and segments, and compliant with local regulations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
