Senior Structural Engineer
Location: Fawley Refinery, Hampshire Contract Type: Inside IR35 – PAYE Duration: Initial 12 Month Contract
About the Role
A Senior Structural Engineer is needed for an initial 12-month contract position at the Fawley Refinery. This role requires extensive experience in brownfield oil and gas projects, along with proficiency in PDMS.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the required technical quality of work within your scope.
- Identify scope and schedule changes in line with the Change Control Process.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant procedures and industry regulations.
- Adhere to agreed budgets and timelines for assigned projects.
- Prepare and assist with cost estimates and project schedules, including reviews.
- Maintain strong client communication and be available for site visits when required.
- Foster lateral learning within the project team.
- Uphold and promote the company’s values, ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental, quality, and ethical policies.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent qualification).
- Proven expertise in structural engineering, particularly in oil and gas brownfield projects.
- Strong technical background to design and perform detailed analysis using industry-standard methods.
- Competence in analytical software and understanding the theoretical foundations behind them.
- Experience in planning, scheduling, forecasting, and progress reporting.
- Awareness of commercial, contractual, and administrative processes in engineering.
- Ability to estimate man-hours and material costs for delegated projects.
- Effective collaboration with other engineering disciplines and drafting teams to meet deadlines.
