What You'll Do

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will provide technical leadership in the design, assessment, and verification of anchorage systems for major nuclear and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for delivering robust structural engineering solutions for mechanical, electrical, and civil anchorage applications, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety requirements, Eurocodes, and project-specific standards. Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams, you will lead the structural assessment of anchorage systems throughout the project lifecycle, supporting design development, technical assurance, construction, and installation activities. You will act as a subject matter expert, resolving complex engineering challenges while ensuring designs are safe, efficient, and fully integrated with the wider project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, analysis, and verification of structural anchorage systems, including cast-in anchors, post-installed anchors, baseplates, embedments, support structures, and fixings for nuclear and infrastructure projects.
  • Produce and review detailed structural calculations in accordance with Eurocodes, RCC-CW (where applicable), project specifications, and relevant international standards.
  • Perform structural assessments of anchorage systems under static, dynamic, seismic, thermal, fatigue, and accidental loading conditions.
  • Develop technical justifications, calculation packages, engineering reports, and design documentation to support project deliverables and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical leadership during design reviews, ensuring anchorage solutions are fully integrated with civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, layout, and construction disciplines.
  • Lead the assessment of design changes, identifying technical impacts, managing engineering risks, and ensuring compliance with project configuration management processes.
  • Resolve complex technical queries arising during design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities, providing expert engineering guidance to project teams.
  • Interface with clients, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory stakeholders to support technical discussions, design approvals, and engineering decision-making.
  • Ensure all anchorage designs comply with nuclear safety requirements, quality standards, project procedures, and applicable design codes.
  • Mentor and support junior structural engineers, promoting engineering excellence, knowledge sharing, and best practice across the team.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to standardise anchorage designs, improve constructability, and enhance engineering efficiency.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
