Waterman Building Structures busy Bristol office is seeking to recruit a near Chartered or Chartered Engineer to the position of Senior Structural Engineer.
Working as part of an established and collaborative Structures team, you will play a key role in the design, inspection, and assessment of a wide range of structural materials and forms across multiple sectors. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to take on greater responsibility, develop client-facing skills, and progress their career within a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structural design, inspection, and assessment work across a variety of projects
- Work across multiple sectors including Retail, Industrial, Residential, Telecommunications, Technology, and Leisure
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of projects, ensuring quality, budget, and programme targets are achieved
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal teams to develop effective and innovative solutions
- Prepare and review calculations, drawings, and technical reports
- Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
- Contribute to project planning, resource allocation, and financial management

About You
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Near Chartered or Chartered (ICE or IStructE)
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a structural engineering consultancy
- Experience in the design, inspection, and assessment of a variety of structural materials and forms
- Ability to manage multiple projects and clients effectively
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A proactive and collaborative approach to problem-solving
- Ambition to develop leadership, client-facing, and project management skills
