About the Role
In this Structural Engineer position, you will:
- Undertake structural engineering design for discrete packages of work, including:
- Production of reports
- Calculation packages
- Specifications
- Supervise technicians in:
- Production of 3D models
- Drawings that clearly communicate structural engineering solutions
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to produce coordinated design solutions
- Communicate your design solutions:
- Verbally
- Through sketching, drawings, writing, and presentations
- Visit sites to carry out:
- Inspections during the construction phase
- Assessment of existing structures
You will report directly to the lead structural engineer for relevant projects, engaging with the multidisciplinary design teams, including external consultants.
Responsibilities
- Ensure your design solutions directly contribute to the overall success of the projects.
- Produce high-quality design documentation aligned with industry standards.
- Work with external partners to coordinate technical specifications.
- On-site presence will be required, contributing to quality checks and validation of structures.

Requirements

A degree in engineering with progression towards chartered status (MInstE / MICE).

A working knowledge of:
- Structural engineering principles
- Application of Eurocodes

Developing understanding of:
- Appropriate analytical techniques
- Design software

Passion for low carbon design and practical knowledge of:
- Embodied carbon assessment in design decisions.

A willingness to:
- Take responsibility for your designs.
- Be proactive.
- Mentor less experienced team members.
