🔥 Senior Structural Engineer – Power & Energy Sector – Critical Role

Deliver Structural Design That Powers the UK Energy Network

We’re seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with specialised experience in the Power and Energy sector to drive critical UK electricity infrastructure projects. Join us to work on high-profile schemes across Transmission & Distribution, substations, HV/HVDC systems, and National Grid projects, where structural engineering is essential for national connectivity.

If you thrive on solving complex technical challenges, owning structural design, and shaping vital energy infrastructure—this role offers meaningful technical growth, visibility, and progression.

## What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll lead or own key aspects of Power & Energy infrastructure projects, contributing directly to UK energy reliability:

  • Ownership & leadership – Lead structural design packages or major elements of Power & Energy infrastructure, including:
    • Transmission & Distribution (T&D) networks
    • Substations
    • HV/HVDC assets
  • Technical excellence – Deliver high-quality structural calculations, models, drawings, reports, and specifications
  • Regulatory compliance – Apply UK codes and standards in regulated Power sector environments
  • Software proficiency – Conduct deep structural analysis using industry tools (e.g., ETABS, STAAD, SACS)
  • Collaboration – Work closely with civil, electrical, and multidisciplinary teams to achieve flawless design solutions
  • Project support – Provide progress updates, contribute to programme delivery, and assist in business development (tenders, fee proposals, scope development)
  • Innovation – Introduce practical, buildable, and sustainable solutions tailored to energy infrastructure
  • Mentorship – Guide and develop junior engineers within our Power team

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
