Senior Structural Engineer

Senior Structural Engineer / Consultant – Birmingham

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer / Consultant to take a leading role in delivering high-quality structural engineering solutions. This is an opportunity to apply your technical expertise and leadership across complex projects while helping develop people and strengthen client relationships.


The Role

You will:

  • Lead structural engineering projects from concept to completion, delivering safe, practical, and efficient solutions across varied sectors.
  • Work independently and within multidisciplinary teams to:
    • Manage design programmes
    • Coordinate delivery
    • Produce and review calculations, reports, and technical documentation to a high standard
  • Strengthen leadership within the team by:
    • Mentoring junior engineers
    • Sharing technical knowledge
    • Supporting continuous improvement
  • Contribute to business development through:
    • Client engagement
    • Preparation of proposals
    • Identifying repeat and new work opportunities
  • Ensure expertise in:
    • Steel, reinforced concrete, masonry, timber, and foundation design
    • Tools such as RAM Structural System, RAM Concept, TEDDS, and AutoCAD
  • Maintain compliance with relevant standards and health and safety requirements.

About You

You are:

  • A degree-qualified Civil or Structural Engineer with significant consultancy experience, delivering projects from concept through to completion.
  • Combines:
    • Strong technical ability
    • Clear communication
    • Commercial awareness
    • Confidence in managing multiple projects and leading teams
  • Takes pride in engineering excellence.
  • Enjoys mentoring others.
  • Comfortable working directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
