The Opportunity

HKA is seeking to recruit an ambitious, technically accomplished Chartered Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing Civil and Structural team in London. Perfect for:

  • Fresh transitions into forensic consultancy (prior forensic experience not required).
  • Experienced engineers (8+ years) seeking to advance within a market-leading disputes consultancy.

Our FTS team is expanding, offering deep involvement in UK/international assignments. Travel flexibility is a plus but not essential.


Responsibilities

Deliver technical and forensic insights on complex issues, contributing to multi-disciplinary projects, including:

  • Structural modelling & advanced analysis
  • In-depth code reviews for construction standards (e.g., British/European codes)
  • Discrete site investigations & inspections
  • Independent technical research & benchmarking
  • Strict adherence to time/budget constraints
  • Reporting: Compiling detailed, clear documentation for expert teams
  • Collaborative governance: Coordinate multi-project workflow with HKA’s Civil & Structural experts

Requirements

Technical Proficiency

✅ MSc/MEng in Structural/Civil Engineering (e.g., IStructE/ICE affiliation) ✅ Chartered Engineer (CEng) status ✅ 8+ years’ specialism in reinforced concrete/structural steel design ✅ Proficiency in industry-standard analysis tools (e.g., ATEQ, AdvanceDesign, CSI Etaabs) ✅ Critical thinking: Drive bespoke solutions beyond conventional codes ✅ Hands-on refurbishment/remedial works design knowledge a plus
