Senior Structural Engineer/Project Engineer
Senior Structural Engineer or Senior Project Engineer – Narro Associates
Award-winning structural and civil engineering consultancy delivering innovative, practical, and sustainable solutions across diverse sectors is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer or Senior Project Engineer to join their growing team.
About the Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a:
- Chartered Engineer (or one progressing strongly towards Chartership)
- Ambitious professional eager to take ownership of high-impact projects
- Leader in client relations and team development
The ideal candidate will:
- Drive complex structural engineering projects from concept to completion
- Ensure technical excellence, control commercial performance, and lead project teams
- Collaborate with architects, developers, contractors, and consultants to deliver practical and efficient solutions
You will:
- Lead multiple projects independently
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers
- Contribute to the continuous growth of the business
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural design, analysis, and delivery across diverse sectors
- Manage projects from inception to completion, aligning with deadlines, budgets, and quality standards
- Engage directly with clients, architects, and contractors as the primary technical contact
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and allocate resources effectively
- Conduct site inspections, attend design meetings, and provide construction support
- Review, approve, and validate technical designs, calculations, and reports
- Mentor and develop graduates and junior project engineers
- Ensure compliance with:
- Eurocodes
- British Standards
- Building Safety legislation
- In-house quality procedures
- Contribute to business development and client-facing activities

About You
We’re seeking candidates who can demonstrate:
- Chartered Engineer status (e.g., MIStructE or MICE) or proven progress toward Chartership
- Proven ability to pioneer structural projects independently
- Strong technical expertise across multiple structural materials
- Proficiency in industry-leading analysis and modelling software
- Exceptional communication and client-facing skills
- Commercial IQ and project management capability
- A collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and development
