Waterman Group is a leading engineering and environmental consultancy, delivering innovative and sustainable solutions across the built environment. Our Glasgow office continues to grow, and we’re seeking a talented Senior Revit Technician to join our Structures team.
You’ll be part of a multi-disciplinary environment, collaborating closely with structural and civil engineers, architects, and design professionals to produce accurate, coordinated, and high-quality design information across a wide variety of projects — from commercial and residential developments to education, healthcare, defence, and mixed-use schemes.
The Role
As a Senior Revit Technician, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of projects by developing detailed 2D drawings and 3D Revit models for building structures. You will ensure the efficient integration of BIM workflows, maintain compliance with Waterman Group’s BIM standards, and provide specialist support to our engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake accurate Revit modelling of both new and existing buildings across a range of sectors.
- Produce high-quality 2D drawings and 3D structural models in line with project and company standards.
- Coordinate structural designs with other disciplines (architectural, MEP, civil) to ensure model consistency and accuracy.
- Prepare modelling documentation and drawings for RIBA stage reports, planning applications, and technical approvals.
- Contribute to design coordination and early-stage modelling studies, offering practical input to develop engineering options.
- Support engineers with the preparation of design documentation, technical reports, and calculations.
- Create renders and visualisations to assist in conveying design concepts and project presentations.
- Manage relevant project documentation, including model compliance, internal reviews, and document control.
- Provide material quantities and volumes for RIBA Stage reports and cost assessments.
- Support ongoing development of BIM processes, parametric modelling methods, and digital standards.
- Actively participate in Waterman’s in-house development forums on topics such as sustainability and BIM strategies.
- Provide ongoing advice to structural and civil engineering colleagues throughout project development.
- Undertake reinforced concrete detailing and scheduling as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
