As a Senior Structures Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring the Royal Navy Submarine Fleet’s capabilities through:

  • Innovative structural design solutions
  • High-impact projects that protect national security
  • Dynamic, career-enhancing work with tangible impact

Your role will intersect with: ✔ Directing technical outputs and coordinating multidisciplinary teamwork ✔ Utilising hand calculations and finite element analysis for structural assessments ✔ Ensuring explosive shock survivability and addressing structural defects ✔ Driving capability upgrades essential for future submarine platforms

Working Arrangements: Full-time, 35 hours per week, with hybrid working (2 days in office/onsite, 3 days remote).

Essential Requirements

  • Proven experience in structural analysis and engineering design
  • Strong project management and technical communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in complex, fast-paced environments
  • A collaborative mindset, with influence across levels within the organisation

Qualifications & Licences Required

  • Degree in a STEM discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (orottected by obtaining it)
  • Membership or engagement with a relevant professional engineering institute

  • Sole UK nationals
  • Legally permitted to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance Eligibility may be limited due to national security measures. Further guidance is available here.
