As a Senior Structures Engineer, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring the Royal Navy Submarine Fleet’s capabilities through:
- Innovative structural design solutions
- High-impact projects that protect national security
- Dynamic, career-enhancing work with tangible impact
Your role will intersect with: ✔ Directing technical outputs and coordinating multidisciplinary teamwork ✔ Utilising hand calculations and finite element analysis for structural assessments ✔ Ensuring explosive shock survivability and addressing structural defects ✔ Driving capability upgrades essential for future submarine platforms
Working Arrangements: Full-time, 35 hours per week, with hybrid working (2 days in office/onsite, 3 days remote).

- Leading technical development within the Structures team
- Delivering project management and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Guiding engineering outputs across diverse, complex programmes
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience in structural analysis and engineering design
- Strong project management and technical communication skills
- Ability to thrive in complex, fast-paced environments
- A collaborative mindset, with influence across levels within the organisation
Qualifications & Licences Required
- Degree in a STEM discipline, or equivalent experience
- Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (orottected by obtaining it)
- Membership or engagement with a relevant professional engineering institute
Critical Security Note
Candidates must be:
- Sole UK nationals
- Legally permitted to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance Eligibility may be limited due to national security measures. Further guidance is available here.
