Location: Basingstoke, UK Client: Leading Global Energy Operator Start Date: ASAP Contract Duration: 12 Months (Annually Renewable) Determination: Outside IR35
Job Description
Description of Project/Role and Main Responsibilities
- A Subsea Structure and Tie-in Engineer is required to support our client's worldwide offshore deepwater projects.
- They will support all engineering activities related to subsea structure and tie-in systems across project phases:
- Feasibility
- Basic/FEED
- Execution of new/ongoing initiatives
The main functions of the engagement include:

To prepare and complete large EPCI contracts for Offshore Projects:
- Subsea structure and tie-in systems
- All Project phases:
- Feasibility & Conceptual Study
- Front End Engineering Design
- Call For Tender
- Engineering
- Procurement
- Fabrication
- Testing
- Installation
- Commissioning

To ensure design of subsea structure and tie-in systems meets:
- Project requirements
- Applicable codes and standards
- Engineering best practices
- Cost and risk reduction goals

To prepare all technical documentation for subsea structure and tie-in systems:
- Conceptual Study
- FEED
- Tender and Contract Package Preparation

To follow up on supplier call for tender & selection:
- Qualifications
- Clarifications
- Recommendations

To follow-up all activities related to:
- Subsea structure and tie-in system fabrication
- Testing
- Interfacing with other systems
- Packing and load-out

To coordinate activities on Offshore operations:
- Support for Installation
- Commissioning
- Start-up activities

To maintain an extensive awareness of:
- Design standards requirements for subsea structures and tie-in systems
Candidate’s Qualifications, Professional Experience, and Skills
Required Experience and Competencies
-
Extensive experience as a Subsea Structure and Tie-in Engineer:
- Across project development phases (concept to execution and handover to operations)
-
Experience in technical design of:
- Subsea structures:
- Manifolds/PLEMs
- PLETs/ILTs
- PLRs
- Tie-in systems (from preliminary engineering to detailed design)
- Knowledge of main subsea and installation interfaces
- Subsea structures:

Experience in design and safety reviews, including:
- HAZOP
- HAZID’s
- Risk Assessments

Experience in supervising:
- Contractors
- Vendors’ equipment and deliverables

Ability to support onshore and offshore testing:
- FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests)
- SIT (Site Installation Tests)
- Pre-commissioning, installation, and commissioning activities

Experience as Company Representative for subsea structures/tie-in systems
Technical Requirements

Full knowledge of:
- All applicable codes
- International standards
- Engineering best practices for subsea structures and tie-in systems

Minimum qualification:
- BS Degree in:
- Mechanical or Structural Engineering
- Or a related engineering discipline
- BS Degree in:

Extensive industry experience in:
- Oil and Gas Industry
- Subsea structures and tie-in systems (from preliminary to detailed design)

Experience with Finite Element Analysis software:
- Ansys
- Abaqus
- COSMOSWorks
-
Experience with subsea structural analysis software:
- SACS
- SESAM
-
Proficiency in MS Office (core applications)
