Senior Support Worker

Senior Care Assistant – Purpose-Built Care Facility (Ormskirk, Lancashire)

Older people and dementia care team member sought for this Senior Care Assistant role within one of UK’s leading healthcare providers, based in Ormskirk, Lancashire.

The care home is purpose-built, offering residential care and dementia care, staffed by a skilled team of professionals.

About the Role

A permanent part-time (22 hours/week, Nights) position with one of the UK’s leading healthcare providers, dedicated to exceptional senior care within a modern, welcoming environment.


Key Responsibilities (Senior Care Assistant)

  • Lead and inspire a team of committed care assistants to deliver high-quality care, empowering residents to live later life to their fullest potential
  • Support residents with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, mobility assistance, and hygiene
  • Assist in organising and wider health & wellbeing activities for residents
  • Administer medication and maintain clear, accurate, and legally compliant records
  • Nurture positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues

Essential Requirements

✅ NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (compulsory for consideration)

Preferred Skills & Experience

(Important for applying at senior level)

  • A passionate commitment to care for older people
  • Previous experience in a care environment (formal or informal)
  • Proven leadership skills, including:
    • Coaching and motivating teams to maintain high standards
    • Inspiring colleagues to adopt a culture of exceptional care
  • A kind, warm, and caring nature
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively while applying initiative independently
  • Patience, excellent communication and listening skills
  • Consistency in:
    • Time management
    • Organisational prioritisation of tasks
    • Record-keeping accuracy and attention to detail
