Senior Support Worker (Full-Time)

Salary: £13.25–£15.00 per hour (based on a 35-hour week, including weekend working).

Respond Care is looking for an experienced Senior Support Worker to join our dedicated and passionate team. This rewarding role combines hands-on support with leadership responsibilities, ensuring adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs receive high-quality, person-centred care that enables them to live fulfilling and independent lives.

As a Senior Support Worker, you will lead by example, supporting adults both within their own homes and out in the community. You will provide guidance and mentorship to the staff team, promote best practice, and work alongside management to ensure the highest standards of care are consistently delivered.

Your role will include supporting individuals with all aspects of daily living, including:

  • Personal care
  • Shopping and meal preparation
  • Medication administration
  • Community access and social activities
  • Promoting independence, choice, and control
  • Building and maintaining meaningful relationships

In addition, you will:

  • Lead and support Support Workers during shifts.
  • Act as a role model, promoting person-centred values and best practice.
  • Support with staff inductions, shadow shifts, and ongoing mentoring.
  • Complete audits, observations, and competency checks where required.
  • Assist with care planning, risk assessments, and record keeping.
  • Liaise with families and healthcare professionals.
  • Support the management team in maintaining compliance with CQC standards.
