Senior Support Worker - Children’s Homes

Location: Buxton, Derby

Salary: From £14.05 per annum plus an additional £3k - £6k pa for sleep-ins

(4 – 8 sleep ins per month at £62.64 per each)

Hours: Full time long day shifts plus sleep ins.

Full UK Driving licence is required.

About the Role

Keys Group are pleased to be opening a specialist children’s home and are looking to recruit several experienced and qualified Senior support workers for this exciting new venture. Our 8 bed home will have an onsite education facility with a unique curriculum tailored around adventure and outdoor pursuits alongside traditional subjects so we are looking for people who have experience in Children's residential care and working towards Level 3 qualification in children's residential workforce to lead by example and provide the highest level of therapeutic support. You will have the opportunity to participate in outdoor pursuits so we are looking for people with drive, passion and resilience.

Staff will be fully supported by an enhanced, specialist clinical team, well beyond our standard clinical offer, and will receive bespoke training to meet the needs of the young people living within the home.

More About The Role

You will work with the team to promote and support the young people in our care in leading a life of positive development by providing a safe and nurturing environment.

  • Ensure the day-to-day management is facilitated in a professional and competent manner and support the Service Manager in providing the best quality care.
  • Lead a team along with other professionals, to provide the therapeutic care and support needed for each individual child.
  • Record events and observations, progress reports, preparing and implementing care plans and records
  • You will act as a positive role model to colleagues and children to meet their everyday living needs, developing trusting relationships that create recovery, growth and lasting change.

What Do You Need?

  • Experience or knowledge of child-centred, therapeutic models.
  • Great communication skills, naturally caring, flexible and resilient.
  • A minimum of 12 months Children’s home experience and a level 3 qualification in residential childcare which will be recognised in your hourly pay rate.
  • You need to be able to work flexibly in caring for the children. This will include working shifts and sleep-ins with full-time and part-time hours being available.
  • Full UK Driving licence is beneficial
