Senior Support Worker

Senior Support Worker (Full-Time/Part-Time)

£13.45 per hour | Bradford, West Yorkshire

About the Role

We are seeking a calm, resourceful, and enthusiastic Senior Support Worker to join our friendly team in Shipley, Bradford. You will deliver person-centred care and support to individuals with mental health and autism needs, helping them participate in daily life and enjoy a variety of activities.

As a Senior Support Worker, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Providing positive communication and engagement with individuals based on unconditional positive regard
  • Working within a positive behaviour support framework
  • Demonstrating maturity, responsibility, and confidence in growing as a skilled practitioner
  • Assisting the management team in leading, supervising, and implementing individualised support
  • Ensuring consistent, effective communication across the team

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of Support Workers
  • Ensure adherence to agreed guidelines and best practice
  • Assist in planning and delivering support activities aligned with individual needs
  • Maintain a strong sense of teamwork and inclusivity within a supportive environment
  • Follow a flexible rota (covering evenings and weekends)

Requirements

We require applicants to have:

  • Essential: Experience supporting adults with mental health needs
  • Essential: A willingness to obtain or complete a relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Diploma in Health and Social Care – Level 2 or 3)
  • Essential: Ability to work qualitatively, remain calm under pressure, and demonstrate empathy
  • Desirable: Experience in positive behaviour support or autism management
