Description
Priory Horizon House has an opportunity for a Senior Support Worker to join our team. This role is offered on a Full Time basis working 37.5 hours per week. Salary £27,195 annually.
Horizon House, Nottingham is a residential addiction treatment service. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes nearby and Nottingham city centre approximately 2 miles from the service.
This is a new location opening as part of our existing service – offering bespoke treatment for a wide range of addictions in a calm, homely environment. Set within a supportive community, Horizon House will provide a safe haven away from the stresses of daily life, forming part of our wider network of residential addiction treatment homes across the UK.
This is a non-private service. All patients are referred through established local healthcare pathways.
What you'll be doing
As an experienced therapist, support worker, therapy assistant, or administrator you will:
- Guide clients through daily group sessions, evening recovery-focused activities, and psychoeducational workshops.
- Each element is designed to help clients develop practical coping strategies, build resilience, and reduce their responses to everyday triggers.
- Supervise and support the delivery of person-centered support and care, ensuring that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met; including personal care, participation in activities, and support with daily living tasks.
- Ensure all client documentation is updated as per policy and evolving needs.
- Maintain high standards of record-keeping and ensure the key worker process is embedded in practice.
- Undertake key working responsibility for individual clients, supporting the individual to plan goals and personal outcomes and ensure that these are comprehensively documented and reviewed.
- Ensure all external and internal reporting is completed as per deadline and report any exceptions to the site management team.

What you'll bring to the role
Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows.
- Basic numeracy skills
- Basic literacy skills
- Willingness to work towards an Diploma/NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care
- Previous experience of working as a Senior Support Worker and/or leadership experience.
- Candidates should have prior experience working in a healthcare, social care, or addiction support setting, ideally with individuals facing substance misuse challenges.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to work empathetically and maintain professional boundaries.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care or addiction support are preferred but not always mandatory.
- Candidates must be reliable, able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and have a genuine commitment to supporting clients through their recovery journey.
