Senior Support Worker
Senior Residential Support Worker – New Children’s Home
We are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join the opening team of a brand-new children’s home.
About the Role
The home is registered for two young people requiring short-term support (36-month placements). Operating with a 2:1 staffing ratio, the setting delivers high levels of therapeutic intervention and consistent care to:
- Stabilise placements
- Reduce risk
- Support young people in transitioning to suitable longer-term children’s homes

Responsibilities
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will:
- Deliver day-to-day care and emotional support for young people with complex needs
- Help children manage behaviour positively and develop coping strategies
- Lead shifts, provide guidance to staff, and ensure routine adherence
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies
- Support engagement in education, activities and community life
- Encourage independence, self-esteem, and emotional wellbeing
- Maintain accuracy in records and collaborate with professionals and families
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and regulatory standards

Requirements
- Essential:
- Residential Childcare Level 3 qualification
- DRIVERS ONLY
- DBS check required
- Experience:
- Working with children with EBD in a residential setting
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding
- Commitment to a child-centred approach
- Ability to lead by example and support junior team members
