Senior Support Worker

Senior Support Worker Vacancy – Care Home, Weymouth, Dorset

One of the UK’s leading health care providers has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Senior Support Worker to join their new nursing and residential care home in Weymouth, Dorset.

This exceptional seaside location is part of one of England’s most picturesque coastal towns. The care home is set to open soon and is seeking a compassionate professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality care.

About the Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll take ownership of senior-level duties in an active care environment, supporting and leading our team to ensure residents receive the best possible care and attention.

Qualifications

To apply for this position, candidates must hold:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or an equivalent qualification)

Preferred but not essential:

  • Proven experience working in a care setting would be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Recognising and facilitating the daily needs of residents
  • Conducting formal supervisions and appraisals
  • Contributing to care planning and coaching support workers
  • Taking an active professional role in promoting services when interacting with relatives, prospective residents, and enquiries
  • Updating and writing care plans, maintaining resident documentation
  • Making and reporting realistic assessments of each resident to ensure continuity of care
  • Administering medication in accordance with policies and procedures

Skills & Person Specification

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong teamwork skills—a willing collaborator who contributes positively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A genuine passion for caring for others
  • Experience in care settings is helpful but not mandatory

Benefits

This is a permanent, full-time position (36 hours per week), operating during weekday working hours.
