Can you help us create meaningful experiences that inspire supporters to build long-term partnerships with the Science Museum Group?
About us
At the Science Museum Group, we make it our mission to Inspire Futures. Across our museums, collections, exhibitions, and public programmes, we connect people with stories of science, innovation, and human achievement.
The Fundraising and Partnerships team plays a vital role in enabling this work by building strong relationships with philanthropists, corporate partners, trusts, and foundations whose support helps us deliver our mission. Through thoughtful engagement, impactful communications, and exceptional stewardship, we ensure our supporters feel connected to the difference they make across the Group.
We are now looking for a Senior Supporter Engagement Manager to join us on a fixed-term basis as maternity cover for 12 months. This is a full-time role (35 hours per week), based at the Science Museum in London, with hybrid working available.
About the role
As Senior Supporter Engagement Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of supporter engagement and stewardship programmes that help deepen relationships, strengthen donor retention, and support income growth across the Science Museum Group.
- You will work closely with fundraisers, communications colleagues, and stakeholders across the organisation to create meaningful supporter journeys that recognise the generosity of our funders and demonstrate the impact of their support.
- From bespoke experiences for major supporters to group-wide stewardship initiatives, you will ensure our engagement activity is creative, consistent, and aligned with fundraising objectives.
- You will partner with fundraising colleagues to develop engagement plans for prospects and supporters, oversee supporter communications and recognition programmes, and help deliver compelling fundraising collateral, including cases for support, stewardship reports, and impact-led communications.
- You will also manage stewardship budgets, track performance and return on investment, and continuously seek opportunities to enhance the supporter experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
