Job Purpose

Rapleys Residential Development Consultancy Team provides development consultancy, valuation, and agency advice to a wide range of registered providers, local authorities, private sector developers, private equity, and institutional funds.

The team is currently providing advice on a number of significant urban regeneration projects, edge of settlement expansion, and new garden village settlements as well as large residential-led greenfield and brownfield development projects. The team advises on projects across the UK with support from our offices in Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, and Edinburgh.

The role presents an exciting opportunity to join our growing residential development consultancy team, with exposure to a wide range of instructions. The main responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting formal valuations for registered providers in connection with their developments, including Red Book valuations, s106 package deals, and market values for new build stock
  • Drafting Financial Viability Assessments (FVA) to be included in planning submissions
  • Producing detailed residual valuation models on Argus Developer and SDS Proval
  • Producing residential valuation and development advice to local authority clients on a wider range of matters
  • Developing and managing existing client relationships, including growing new areas of business
  • Assisting the team in achieving targets and growing the business line

Requirements

  • Following appropriate training
  • MRICS qualified
  • RICS Registered Valuer
  • Experience of providing residential/development valuation advice
  • Good working knowledge of Argus Developer
  • Knowledge of Affordable Housing would be an advantage
  • Good report writing, numerical, and communication skills
  • A high degree of IT literacy is essential
  • Clean driving licence
