Role: Experienced Valuer (Valuation Team – Manchester, UK)
Location: Manchester, UK (as part of our wider national Valuation Team) Reporting To: Valuation Consultancy Directors (Liverpool & Manchester) Team: Valuation Team (North West)
Purpose:
This role covers all aspects of general practice valuation for clients including:
- Public sector bodies
- Local authorities
- Developers
- Investors
- Banks and lending institutions
With a hybrid and client-centric approach, this position is for an experienced valuer prepared to:
- Independently deliver valuations for loan security, acquisitions, disposals, and asset management with efficiency.
- Support wider team collaboration and deliver high-quality, signed-off valuation reports.
- Assist in growing the North West valuation business through proactive relationship-building.

Key Duties:
You will: ✔ Conduct detailed and independent valuation instructions while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality. ✔ Write clear and concise valuation reports for Director review and sign-off. ✔ Collaborate with valuation colleagues and assume ownership of projects. ✔ Optimise working smartly and efficiently to align with profitability goals. ✔ Adhere to and enhance Avison Young’s quality and regulatory safeguards. ✔ Identify opportunities to expand the valuation business across the North West region. ✔ Support collective strategy attainment by actively engaging with colleagues and contributing unique insights.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 software.
- Familiarity with valuation software (you might develop skills in KEL and Argus Developer, or receive training as needed).
Core Skills:
- A commercial, pragmatic, and solution-oriented mindset for real-world property and business scenarios.
- Strong organisational abilities
- Capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining extreme attention to detail.
- Commitment to excellence, producing high-quality outputs consistently.
- Flexibility, resilience, and adaptability in work arrangements.
- Exceptional report-writing skills—ability to translate data into clearly structured, insightful narratives.
- Data management fluency.
- Collaboration drive, teamwork mindset, and accountability.

Experience:
- Trusted RICS Registered Valuer (FRICS or MRICS qualification required).
- Deep understanding of RICS ‘Red Book’ and related guidance notes.
