✈️ Senior Mission Systems Engineer | Lincoln/Hybrid | £65,000-£75,000
Our client is looking for a Senior Mission Systems Engineer to act as technical focal point for their Mission Systems department, leading the shift to Model-Based Systems Engineering while staying genuinely hands-on with the electronics behind their platforms.
This one's for a Senior Engineer who's just as comfortable owning a SysML model as they are troubleshooting a system-of-systems issue on the hangar floor.
What you'll be doing:
- Owning the system model (SysML) as the single source of truth across the project lifecycle
- Leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and designers
- Managing the full V-model lifecycle with requirements through to integration, verification & validation
- Providing technical oversight on radar, EO, RF sensors, mission computers, and datalinks (SATCOM & line-of-sight)
- Guiding electronic hardware development; power, thermal, signal integrity
- Running a Systems Integration Lab replicating the aircraft environment
- Liaising directly with Flight Ops, Engineering, and Intelligence Analysts

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
