Senior Systems Engineer
Location: North London (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £60,000 + Benefits
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Systems Engineer to join a leading engineering organisation developing advanced radar and sensing technologies. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will play a key role across the full systems engineering lifecycle, supporting projects from initial concept and requirements capture through to integration, verification, customer acceptance and in-service support.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Systems Engineer looking to work on technically challenging products while collaborating with software, electronics and mechanical engineering teams.
The Role
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will:
- Support the full systems engineering lifecycle from concept through to delivery and customer acceptance.
- Develop system architectures, requirements and technical solutions.
- Plan and support system integration, verification and validation activities.
- Work closely with software, electronics and mechanical engineering teams throughout product development.
- Identify, assess and manage technical risks across projects.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation, specifications and engineering reports.
- Participate in design reviews and customer-facing engineering activities.
- Mentor and support junior engineers within the Systems Engineering team.
- Contribute to multiple engineering projects across a diverse product portfolio.
- Travel to customer and project sites when required.

About You
We're looking for an engineer with a solid background in systems engineering and product development who enjoys solving complex technical challenges within multidisciplinary environments.
You will ideally have experience with:
- Systems design, integration and testing.
- The complete product lifecycle, from concept through to delivery.
- Working across software, electronics and mechanical engineering disciplines.
- Technical risk management.
- Producing engineering documentation, specifications and technical reports.
- Communicating effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Mentoring junior engineers.
- Holding a full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience

Experience in any of the following would be advantageous:
- Radar or radio systems.
- Communications protocols including RS232, RS485, TCP/IP or CANbus.
- Defence, maritime or navigation systems.
- Leading engineering work packages and design reviews.
- Project planning and technical leadership.
- EMC testing and compliance.
- Electronic fault finding and diagnostics.
- Oscilloscopes, multimeters and spectrum analysers.
- Verification to MIL-STD, Def Stan or IEC standards.
- Working within ESD-controlled environments.
- Membership of a professional engineering institution such as the IET, IMechE or INCOSE.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
