About AutoRek

AutoRek is a financial data management platform enabling companies to streamline and automate complex and high-volume data management and controls processes. Our customers range from innovative FinTech start-ups to many of the UK and the world’s largest and established banks, asset managers, and insurance companies. Digital data and financial transaction volumes are growing exponentially, this combined with increasing regulatory obligations is driving the demand for improved efficiencies, better control and management of risk across the financial services industry. The AutoRek platform meets these demands and more, and that is why we continue to be a leading player in the market.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to play a key role in maintaining and improving our internal IT environment. You will act as a senior technical specialist within the Internal IT team, helping ensure our systems are secure, reliable, and scalable to support a growing organisation.

In this senior hands-on role, you will work on technical issues, support junior members of the team, contribute to infrastructure improvement initiatives, and help drive operational best practices across internal systems and services.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining deep technical expertise with continuous improvement, automation, and knowledge sharing in a fast-paced technology business.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong experience in systems administration within a Windows and MacOS environment
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and core Microsoft infrastructure services
  • Proven experience administering Microsoft 365 including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Entra ID
  • Hands-on experience managing Microsoft Intune and modern endpoint environments (Windows 10/11, macOS, and iOS)
  • Strong virtualisation experience, particularly with Hyper-V
  • Experience managing backup solutions, disaster recovery planning, and resilience testing
  • Proven networking knowledge including LAN/WAN, VLANs, VPNs, and firewall technology
  • Good PowerShell scripting skills and an automation-first mindset
  • Hands-on experience working with Infrastructure as Code or configuration management tools such as Terraform or Ansible
  • Ability to act as a senior escalation point and resolve complex technical issues
  • Someone who takes ownership of core systems and naturally drives stability and improvement
  • An individual who is calm and methodical when dealing with major incidents and high-impact issues
  • A strong problem solver who can balance day-to-day operational support with longer-term improvements
  • Someone who enjoys mentoring colleagues and raising technical standards across the team
  • A proactive mindset with the confidence to identify risks, suggest improvements, and follow through to delivery
  • A clear communicator who can explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders
  • A team player who works well across departments and supports a collaborative Internal IT culture
  • Experience supporting GRC functions relating to cyber security and audits, drawing on previous experience working in heavily regulated financial/insurance or legal sectors

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
